For the first ever time a sitting Chief Minister of a State in India is convicted of having amassed (18 years ago)assets disproportionate to her income. It took 18 years for the judiciary to reach the verdict due to the leeeeeeengthy legal process in India.
Spontaneous violence erupted allover the state and the inadequate government machinery is reduced to a bystander in this show of emotions glaringly beamed repeatedly by zillion media conduits.
A guy holding the poster of a prominent opposition leader was looking for a match-stick to burn the poster...he couldn't get any from his group and nonchalantly asked the TV Camera Man covering the proceeding whether he had a match box with him or not...I saw this in live relay by a prominent TV News channel.
So much for the democracy our forefathers spilled guts and blood in the very streets where these marauders are now on a rampage spree.
Five days from now falls the birth day of the Man who taught us how to fight without ever raising a single finger in anger and fight he did!, to set us free...
I feel ashamed looking at the mangled remains of the freedom he delivered to us...
