Humse!

(Dominic Xavier's Art.)

Girls tied.

Poisoned.

Left to die

In the field.

Girl Shot.

In the school.

Not in USA

In India.

Spurned love

Suspected motive.

Beti Bachao kaise from the perpetrators?

Our nobleness encourages women to step up in life by stepping out. We want them to really really succeed.

But then, we pave them a path that runs through the fields and schools and cities and villages where they are hunted like prey by the brethren of the very men who lay the path...

Beti Bachao Kaise?

Our dastardliness keeps us grounded in our archaic legal system where the surviving women are "killed" in every long and slow step towards judgement which ranges from 'Oh no! This is NOT a crime since he didn't remove her dress! Or...maybe it was a consensual rape hence we cannot punish the criminal'. Many survivors actually die without closure as the legal steps are very slow, too slow...

We the news guzzlers stand with Heads bowed in shame, tongue tied into a thousand knots...or may be not!

One Nation One sickness...this is!

The most violent acts of the world are played out on either trees or women, both Givers of Life!

Trees don't bleed red. So nobody cares.

BharathMatha bleeds, every single day! Who cares?!

Leave aside tags like the religion, caste, community, social strata etc...- these detaches people not belonging to the sufferer's tags as if the issue was in Mars!

Do we have the guts to say it as it is, that a woman is / women were killed / maimed by the man / men this nation calls as citizen(s)?

And remove their citizenship and declare them as aliens and treat them on par with those who fall out of CAA / NPR lists?

Heck, why not?!
