While I was on a lengthy late night call recently with a dear friend, something was cooking up in my phone...er...WhatsApp account. Somebody was bombarding me with messages every other second!
I finished my call and checked WhatsApp. There was a new group from an unknown number with 100 plus messages from many more unknown numbers.
After going through the entire conversation, just one question remained in my mind; 'Why me?'.
A bunch of primary school kids have launched a sneak attack be pulling me into a new group they set up (all 10 year old kids!!!) to coordinate preparation for Teachers Day cards. Seriously!
The culprit who gave away my number (my kid) had happily dozed off, not a word spoken about this imminent avalanche...

Folks, this is only part of it! Next morning it grew worse. These kids seemed to have no patience anymore even to type. They started bombarding the group with voice notes!
I decided 'enough is enough', dragged my kid out of his bed and explained in no uncertain terms that this was utter nonsense. He agreed and dozed off again :-)
Oh my, in the time of Blue Whales and Sharks, these dozen kids have a free go at their parents' smart phones at such late hours...Out of curiosity I checked who the Admin was hoping to see an adult face. A 10 old girl smiled back from her digital profile! Do I look worried? Yes, very much!
Back when I was a kid, I too had access to smart phones but that allowed only a short range, one to one communication over a piece of thread; yeah, my generation was and is truly ahead of its time :-)
